reality vs the plan

I’m reading a great book called “The Warrior, The Strategist and YOU”

It’s by an ex-SAS soldier called Floyd Woodrow

Here are some stand out points I thought you might like:

> your North Star is your purpose, it guides all you do. Once you strip away your family, friends, having money, having spare time etc. What do YOU want out of life? Dig deeper. Find what drives you. Let that be your guide.

> your East compass point is your ETHOS. Use (or create) strong moral principles and never break those rules. E.g. don’t step on a friends toes to get a better job, shortcuts come with repercussions and regret.

> your South compass point is your STRATEGY. Look at your situation WITHOUT emotion, look at the data, and make a plan. But understand that reality will shit all over your plans (see pic below).

…haven’t got to the west point yet 😀 but pretty sure it’s be a warrior bad ass and DO the work.

If we look to health, strength and a better life then…

1) PURPOSE - know WHY you are doing what you’re doing. If you get stuck google "momento mori” and live a great life!

2) ETHOS - know WHAT you stand for. At RSG we stand for hard work and daily good habits. What do you stand for? How can that impact your life in a positive way?

3) PLAN - know that the plan will change, the only time you can fail is when you give up. Keep pushing!
